Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
Four years of college, four years of seminary, and three years of law school. By now I should have it figured out.
It would be wonderful that at some point we can learn all the right choices in the fullness of our education and experience. The world calls it wisdom. The Bible calls it foolishness.
For the believer, not every decision is logical when following God. Yes we should listen to wise counsel. But at the same time God doesn’t direct us to follow the world. We are to follow the Spirit.
The operative phrase is to ‘Trust the Lord with all you heart’. Then we are to seek His will, His face in all we do.
For many a believer we spend much wasted time and emotion in frustration about our decisions. We labor about making the right choice. We want it to be wise. We want it to be God’s will.
Our focus though must be to seek His face. Seek to place our trust in Him. God’s promise is if we will trust Him , He will show us the path to take.
Have a blessed day.
