Psalms 119:2 Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
Saturday, I enjoyed a trip to the movies with my grandkids. Kung Fu Panda 3. A great flick. Popcorn was exceptional.
We got back to the house in the late afternoon. Despite the unlimited feast of popcorn and candy everyone was hungry.
Emma, who is six, was circling the kitchen counters while looking for snacks. She quickly found the donuts purchased earlier that day. Open and a little on the aged side, she seized on the jelly filled special.
As she savored her treasure I remember her words: “This is the best made donut that I have ever had.” And I think she meant it.
Things always taste better when you are hungry. This observation holds true even outside the realm of jelly donuts.
For the believer, spiritual hunger comes from the heart. When you hunger after God, you are searching for Him with all your heart. When you yearn for God, the food from heaven will always taste better.
Spend time in worship and prayer. Ask God to give you a hunger for Him. Then you will be able to say, “This is the best made donut that I have ever had.”
Have a blessed day.
