John 11:33-35 “When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. …Jesus wept.”
Easter weekend. A positive and upbeat time of hope for the future. A turning point of purpose for today.
It’s hard to fully appreciate that even in such a positive time of celebration that there are those in our community who are sick and dying. Those who are living in the deepest of personal pain.
In that time of despair, we wonder is God moved by the depth of our experience. Does God understand how overwhelming my emotional pain really is? I feel so alone.
Here, in scripture we read about Lazurus’ death. Mary speaks to Jesus. “Lord, if you would have just been here.”
Upon seeing Mary weep, Jesus wept.
So why did Jesus cry?
Whole books have been written about the subject. There is no single one answer. The obvious is that Christ was moved by Mary’s despair. He cared about her, even in her pain.
Today, claim hope that in the depth of your darkest valleys of life, Christ cares so much for you that He weeps with you, for you, and about you.
Christ creates hope for your today and tomorrow.
Have a blessed day.
