Romans 8:1-2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
No matter how hard I try, I often feel like such a failure in my walk with Christ. I fall short in the journey that is before me. As Christians we can be so free but live as such a slave.
Once we are born again, we are forgiven. We are reborn as Sons and Daughters of God. None of that came through our works, but rather by the grace of God.
Here, the Bible tells us that we have been set free. Yet, we then so freely give ourselves to be reclaimed with the weight of sin. Sin creates guilt. Before we know it, we are back to where we were in terms of our walk and experience of living in the guilt and shame of sin.
Today, write this on a card and put it on your refrigerator, in your car, and on your desk:
“I am not condemned. I have been set free by the free gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord.”
You need to claim it on a daily basis, because no matter what you say or do, human nature is going to continue to drag you back into a slave experience. Today remind yourself and declare your freedom.
Have a blessed day.
