Luke 14:5 “Then he asked them, “If one of you has a child or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?”
Every Friday, I just need to take off from everything. Some call it vacation time. I call it the weekend. A time to relax. We all need those times to disengage.
Last weekend, I was reminded that as a believer, we have no days off. That when you follow Christ, you do so even during the down time, during the vacation, and even when you are on the cruise ship. Yikes!
I am not saying that there is not time for relaxation. Even the Lord himself withdrew from the crowd as an example that there is a time for certain times of rest and regeneration.
What I am saying is that in all of our activities, every day of the week, we are to be Spirit Led. During rest and regeneration time, I have found God creates opportunities for us to minister to others.
Often times when I do relax, God sets before me some of my greatest opportunities to minister and to share with others a message of encouragement and salvation. Today, know that you do deserve time off, and you need to take time off for relaxation and recharging your battery. But even in those times, you cannot be disconnected from the Spirit of God leading you and directing your path.
Those opportunities of service during our down times can be our most satisfying and fulfilling experiences.
Have a blessed day.
