James 1:3,12 “For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
Training as a runner is an essential part of preparation for the race. No one would consider running the Boston Marathon without appropriate training. For the serious competitor, training will often extend over several months.
The whole point of training is to build your endurance. The more you run, the better your time and ability to compete.
Just as the runner, you, as a follower of Christ, will train. Through trials and testing along your journey, you will develop endurance and character.
James says it best: ” So let it grow. For when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” [James 1:4]
If you are a believer, you are in training.
The more you are tested, the greater your endurance will become. Remember, when you are tested, it is yet another opportunity to see God’s power in action.
Get past the pain and look forward to the run.
Have a blessed day.
