Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body, you are called to live in peace. and always be thankful.”
I’ve often wondered why so many places in the scripture it speaks of having peace that comes from God.
Peace creates a calmness and steadiness within our Spirit. When we become overwhelmed with tension and anxiety during the course of our day, we can disconnect in our communication with the Spirit of God. We pay attention to what is immediately within our physical circle. In so doing we can’t open our eyes to hear and feel God’s spirit.
I believe this is the reason why we should seek the Spirit of God to rule and control within our hearts. It creates a calmness and a confidence. It creates an openness that cultivates our attention to spiritual things and our awareness of God’s voice.
When your heart is not at peace, you don’t see God’s direction around you, the opportunities to minister, those choice moments to be ambassadors for Christ.
Today, pray that God’s calmness and peace will be present with you all day long. Remember, it’s not your self-created peace; it’s the peace of Christ Jesus that you seek.
Have a blessed day.
