1 Peter 1:24-25 “As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.”
This morning when I was preparing for work, I noticed once again the signs of aging. Not as much hair, several more sunspots and discolorations of age on my face, varicose veins around the ankles. Man, I am really showing signs of wear and time! Such is growing older.
You can’t help but feel a little sad as you watch yourself slide down time.
Just like the grass and flowers in the field, we are only here on earth for a season. The great thing for us as believers is that we hold to something that goes far beyond our time here on earth. We can “grow old gracefully” or better yet “grow old with grace.”
We grow old with grace because of the good news that we hold. That news is that Jesus Christ is the Word, and He is forever.
Our future does not end with the time that we pass like a flower in the field. Unlike a flower, we will live forever, as we have accepted Christ as our Savior.
Today, be of good cheer and be happy. You have a future that goes far beyond your time here on Earth.
Smile and age with Grace. Your future has only begun.
Have a blessed day.
