The Little Things

John 6:12 When they were all full, He said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces left over; let us not waste a bit.”

littleThis is a quote from the story of Christ feeding the five thousand.  Jesus has just orchestrated the  multiplication of a few loaves of bread and fishes — enough to feed five thousand people.  An amazing miracle.

Once they were all fed, what did Jesus say?   “Gather up the pieces. Don’t waste a bit.”  Why?  There’s no Yetis to pack. No doggie bags. No portable refrigeration.

I believe it’s not about leftovers.  Here we see the attitude of Christ.  Jesus paid attention to the details.  He has just performed a miracle and then tells the group, “By the way, don’t forget the details of your service of these folks.”

We often think that God doesn’t see our details. He just looks at the bigger picture.
Reality is that nothing is too small for Jesus. He pays attention to your every detail. The little things in your life are just as valuable to God as the giant ones.

God loves you. Every little part. Rejoice in His love for you.

Have a blessed day.
