Power and Love

2 Timothy 1:7 “God didn’t give us a spirit that makes us weak and fearful. He gave us a spirit that gives us power and love. It helps us control ourselves.”

So often we catch ourselves living in our own strength, we think of the Holy Spirit as the one who provides for us in times of tragedy as the one who convicts us when we have done wrong.

The Bible tells us that God gave us His Spirit to provide us power and love. In times when we feel weak, it’s not because the Holy Spirit caused it. It is most often because we have left the Spirit at home. Meaning, we are listening to ourselves or listening to others around us, but we are not listening to God’s Spirit.

Actually, when you are living in yourself and not in the Spirit, you will end up in a place where weakness and fear drift in.

Today, look to God for renewal and commitment of His Spirit in your life. It simply means to be led by the Spirit with an attitude that you are open to God guiding and indwelling your heart.

God promises that if you will do so, His Spirit will bring you Power and Love.

Have a blessed day.
