It’s Morning

Psalms 30:5  “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

What a week’s end in Florida. The wind was whistling through the palm trees. During the day, it’s not so scary for me. But at night, it just seems to dial up the anxiety a few clicks.  I’m not sure I fell asleep before 3 AM on Friday.

Why is it that the scariest episodes on movie thrillers seems to occur in the darkest rooms?  I don’t know what it is about night time that seems to magnify fear and anxiety, but it does. I wonder sometimes if I as a believer should be afraid.

God promises that we have His favor. That does not mean, though, that every day is perfect, otherwise we’d all be standing in line to collect on our lotto tickets.  What it does mean for the believer is that for every night, there is the promise of a sunrise and daylight. That is the difference of a world without hope in Jesus Christ and a believer in Christ. For every dark night, we have the promise that day is coming. That I will step into the light.

Today, I pray that if you are not a believer that you will accept Christ as you savior. That you will be born again. Then you can truly know that God’s promise is yours.

For you as a believer, it’s okay to get scared watching Freddie Kruger.  Just don’t buy into it too much. It’s fiction, but your life in Christ is not fiction. It’s who you are and where you live. It is reality.

Look forward to the light.

Have a blessed day.
