Psalms 25:15 “My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.”
This is a test: Tell me what musical group performed the song entitled “These Eyes.”
I remember as a 16-year old, sneaking off with some of my friends and seeing the Guess Who in one of their last farewell concerts in Chicago. It was a time when I had the words memorized to that song.
The Psalmist has something to say in reference to where our eyes are directed. It’s not what we’re looking at; it’s where our attention is at that makes a difference.
Where your eyes are and attention is at will create where your focus is centered. When your focus is on the Lord Jesus Christ during your day, even during the worst of time, you will succeed by a believer’s measure. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to be healed. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to be rich. But what it does mean is that you will constantly see God at work in your life.
Yes, you not only will see good things happen, but as you do, you’ll see the hand of God working in your path making the crooked way straight and the rocky way somewhat smoother. Above all, it makes the journey so much more meaningful for a believer to see on a moment-by-moment basis, the hand of God at work.
Today, as a believer, keep your eyes focused on the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep your mind, heart, and spirit in that direction, too. Know that the Lord standing beside you is all you really need on such a wonderful journey.
Have a blessed day.
