Acts 13:22 – “But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’”
The life of David is known by many great events. It’s so not surprising to find how ultimately David is defined in the New Testament.
God did not say that his pleasure with David was founded upon great deeds. But rather his pleasure with David was founded on David’s relationship with God.
So often, we as believers think that our accomplishments in life will be what ultimately defines who we have been. The real truth, though, is so much different. Achieving things in life will not define our legacy, but rather our legacy will depend upon our relationship with Christ.
If our relationship with Christ is in order, we will hear God’s voice, and we’ll gladly follow. Through our prayer life, our circumstances, our emotions, and our heart, God will communicate every step that we take with the ultimate goal to conform us to His image so that we become Christ-like.
Today, in your prayer time, ask the Lord to fill your heart with His love and to allow you to, just like David, hunger to experience God.
Have a blessed day!
