Pollution Control

2 Corinthians 7:1 – “Dear friends, we have these promises from God. So let us make ourselves pure from everything that pollutes our bodies and spirits. Let us be completely holy. We want to honor God.”

pollutionLast weekend, I probably watched at least two hours of television documentaries expressing different positions on the issues of global warming and environmental pollution.  It was actually very interesting. By the time I was finished, I didn’t really know what to think or which position was correct.

Ultimately, I believe there’s probably some elements of truth on both sides. Obviously, environmental pollution is going to take its toll on the world we’ve been entrusted with. But at the same time, my mission as a believer is not to save the world environment. It’s to save the world of souls from spiritual pollution.

God commands us as believers to seek to protect both our bodies and our souls from the pollution of this world. Exposure to the wrong things, such as to view and read them on the internet or TV, are not good. While it’s true that as a believer, we cannot be spiritually destroyed,  it’s also a fact that the quality of our walk can be damaged by the pollution of this world.

Today, ask God to reveal ways that you are being exposed to this world’s pollution which affect you both spiritually and physically. Then commit to separate yourself as the holy vessel God has made you.

Have a blessed day!
