Genesis 1:24-25 – “Then God said, ‘Let the earth produce every sort of animal, …small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals.’ And that is what happened. God made all sorts…. And God saw that it was good.”
This last week, one of my best friends, Tag, passed away. We found Tag, an Italian greyhound, almost ten years ago. She was living at a rescue. Prior to that, she lived in a puppy mill with over 100 dogs in a 70 foot trailer. She had been obviously abused. She had a protruding deformity on the side of her rib cage where she had most likely been kicked. She also suffered from seizures.
Every day over the next ten years, Tag took Phenobarbital. Despite the seizure meds, she still experienced seizures, several times per year.
But this is not how we remember Tag. She was loving and sweet to our family. She treated our guests with kindness. She hungered for our love and affection. She was fearless in the face of adversity.
Tag was nine pounds on a good day. I love that the God I worship made Tag, I believe, just for my family. Thanks, Father, for bringing us Tag.
She was just like God described her: She was good.
Have a blessed day!
