Matthew 26: 7, 10, 13 “…costly ointment, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table……Why do you trouble the woman?… Truly, I tell you, wherever this good news is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in remembrance of her.”
Of all the things that we can accomplish in our journey as believers and followers of Christ, those that will last forever are not the accomplishments that we may have believed were so important. In this case, a woman pours costly ointment on the head of Jesus. That act of kindness served as a sense of praise and worship. An act that would transcend eternity is proclaimed by the Lord Himself.
Of the things that you accomplish and achieve, what do you believe will transcend time? Think about the nature of what this woman did. She performed a service directly pointed to the Savior. What we do in terms of speech and action to others in and because of Christ will last forever.
Remember, acts of selflessness to those that are “the least of these” are seen by Christ as the most eternal of our deeds.
Have a blessed day!
