Wait for the Lord

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; Wait for the Lord!”

Recently, I was with my grandchildren. It seemed that almost every time I would traverse our long driveway I’d hear a different small voice from behind saying, “Wait for me, Papa”.

Oftentimes, we find ourselves marching forward way too quickly. For those that are true followers, some of our most difficult time is that period between when we feel confident about the direction God wants us to move forward and the time that we spend waiting for God to move forward with us.

Often, we just go forward ourselves. We catch ourselves looking back because we have failed to wait for the Lord to move with us.

That’s not an excuse for us to be lazy. We must be bold enough to take those steps necessary to move forward with God’s plan for us.

But there is a real time when waiting on God takes just as much courage as a leap of faith. Some call it patience.

Be strong, be courageous, and be led by the Spirit.

Have a blessed weekend!
