Clean That Watch

Philippians 3:13-14  “… I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

The weight of the past is probably responsible for more Christians missing what should be a wonderful life filled with blessing and joy. What do I mean when I say the weight of the past?  Really simple, it is guilt.

watch

The weight of guilt is literally like throwing a handful of sand in the movement of a watch. It may occasionally work, but most of the time it just doesn’t.

One of the hardest things to realize as a Christian is that God does not impress you with guilt. Guilt is of  your own manufacture. God does impress you with conviction.

Now, there is a big difference between guilt and conviction. Conviction from God has apurpose. That purpose is to encourage you to change a pattern of conduct or thought.

Guilt is man-made. Guilt is a weight that has only one intent, and that is to destroy. To make you just like that watch full of sand.

Today, ask God to empty your watch of sand. To place in proper focus the difference between guilt and God’s conviction. God wants to liberate you. To take you to your ultimate prize.

Remember you are a winner in Christ Jesus.

Have a blessed day.
